- 2 boiled potatoes
- To grind to paste:
- 2-3 spicy green chillies
- 1/2 " ginger piece
- 3 garlic cloves
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- For tempering for aloo mixture:
- 1 tsp oil
- 1/2 tsp urad dal
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp cummin seeds
- 1/4 tsp tumeric powder
- leaves Few curry
- 1/8 tsp asafoetida (hing)
- For besan batter :
- 1/2 heap cup besan
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 2 tbsp finely chopped fresh coriander leaves
- 1/4 tsp tumeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 pinch soda bi carb
- 1 cheese slice
- Oil for frying
Steps to make to make Batata Wada
- Grind green chillies ginger and garlic to make paste. In small tadka pan add heat oil. Add urad dal saute till pinkish. Add mustard seeds, cummin seeds as splutter add turmeric powder and curry leaves.
- In mixing bowl peel and mash boiled potatoes. Add grinded chillies ginger garlic paste. Add salt, lemon juice and on it pour prepared tempering. Mix well. Make equal size round balls.
- Cut cheese slice horizontally and vertically to make 8 portions. Flattened each aloo balls.. stuffed with one cheese piece as shown. Similarly prepare all.
- To make besan batter.. add besan, red chilli powder, salt and chopped coriander leaves in mixing bowl. Add little water to make lump free pakoras batter. Add baking soda and beat well.
- Heat oil for frying. Dip each prepared aloo balls in besan batter and drop it gently in hot oil. Deep fry these batata wadas on medium flame till crispy golden brown. Similarly prepare all batata wadas.
- Serve/ Relish Delicious Hot Batata Wada with spicy garlic chutney.
