- as required Garam masala, dry mango powder/ lemon juice
- as needed Oil - for frying
Instructions to make to make Vermicelli Modak
- Take the refined flour(maida), add ajwain seeds, salt and ghee for flakiness and knead a soft dough with lukewarm water.
- Now for making the stuffing, heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, heeng,
- And the grinded masala(fennel seeds+coriander seeds), add carrot and potato and fry it well.
- After frying add the boiled semiya and add the masalas(dry mango powder), red chili powder and garam masala
- Now the stuffing is ready. Now take the dough and make balls out of them.
- Roll it into thin part pooris. Now put some stuffing inside the poori and seal the stuffing with maida + water slurry.
- Now fold and give the shape like modak.. Repeat the same with the whole dough.
- Finally fry the modaks in low flame(dont make the flame high otherwise modaks will cook from outside but not from inside)
- Our vermicelli modaks are ready and can be served as a party snack with green chutney / ketchup.
