  1. 3 Boiled potatoes medium
  2. 1/4 cup Boiled green peas
  3. 1 Chopped onion medium
  4. 1 tbsp Cumin seeds /jeera/ Jeere
  5. 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  6. 1 tsp chana daal
  7. 1 tsp Chopped ginger
  8. 4 Chopped garlic cloves
  9. 2 Chopped green chillies
  10. 1 Red dry chilli
  11. 1 tsp Chilli powder
  12. 1 tsp Coriander powder
  13. 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  14. 1 tsp Dry mango powder
  15. as per taste Salt
  16. 1/2 tsp Sugar
  17. as required Water to sprinkle
  18. 1 tablespoon Cooking oil or ghee
  19. 4 - 5 Curry leaves
  20. 1/4 tsp Hing
  21. 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  22. as required Coriander leaves to garnish

Instructions to make to make Jeera Aloo

  1. First, peel the boiled and cooled potatoes. Slice them in. Cubes or chunks.
  2. Now, add the masala powders to the potatoes and keep covered till use for 10 minutes.
  3. Now, heat a kadhai or pan. Add oil or ghee and let it heat up. Then add jeera and mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add red dry chill and fry well.
  4. Then add hing, ginger, garlic, chillies and stir well and cook for 5 minutes. Then add chopped onion and cook till transparent. When masala turns aromatic, add the potatoes and mix well Now add turmeric powder and all other remaining spices.
  5. Stir well and coat the potatoes with spices. Then add green peas, stir and mix well for 2 minutes.Add a spoonful of water, cover and cook for 5 to 7 minutes till aromatic.
  6. Then check for salt and spices and mix in lemon juice. Then remove from flame, garnish with dhania patta and serve steaming hot garnished with rice or paratha or fulkas. Yummy and delicious Jeera Aloo is ready to Enjoy!
