  1. 200 gms paneer
  2. 2 cups boiled / frozen peas
  3. 2 cardamom
  4. 1 inch cinamom
  5. 1 bay leaf
  6. 1 medium onion chopped
  7. 2 tomatoes chopped
  8. 12-15 cashewnuts
  9. 4 pods garlic
  10. 1 inch ginger
  11. 1 green chili
  12. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  13. 2 tsp red chilli powder
  14. 1 tbsp coriander powder
  15. 1 tsp garam masala
  16. 3 tbsp oil
  17. 1 tsp kasuri methi
  18. as per taste salt
  19. 3-4 tbsp fresh cream

Instructions to make to make Matar Paneer

  1. Soak cashew nuts in warm water.
  2. In a pan add 1 tbsp oil Once the oil gets heated, add cardamom pods, garlic, ginger, green chilies and saute well for a minute. Now add onions and cook till it turns golden brown.
  3. Now add soaked cashew nuts, turmeric powder, and tomatoes. Cook till it turns mushy. Cook for a minute and switch off the stove. Cool the mixture to room temperature and grind it well in a mixer grinder till you get a smooth paste.
  4. Strain the mixture through a steel sieve and discard the tomato peels.
  5. In another pan add 2 tbsp of oil and add cinnamon stick and bay leaf. Saute for a minute. Now add red chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Saute and add the sieved paste. Mix well. Add peas and 2 cups of water. Add salt and simmer. Simmer and cook till oil separate out.
  6. Cut chop paneer into desire shape. Add it into the gravy. Add Kasuri methi and cook for 2 minutes.
  7. Finally, add fresh cream to the gravy and mix well.
  8. Serve hot with roti, naan, or rice.
